THE blue OASIS
A while after making "The green oasis" I met a middle eastern family that was renovating their home. They wanted a big Raku oasis too which made me very happy: I had a big empty wall (3m x 6m) ready to be filled! The biggest challenge was the range of colours my clients chose. I spent a lot of time adjusting my glazes until I found the right shades: the oasis needed the colours of the desert, of the sea and maybe the same smell too.
THE green OASIS
This Raku mosaic made out of big pieces is inspired by the Sahara desert and it's been my first try at wall art.
Ingredients needed: free imagination, an empty wall in my house, a load of fresh clay and a helpful husband. For weeks I drew, I created, I baked again and again until I placed my pieces on the wall.
Whenever I see "The Oasis" I think I should add a camel sooner or later.
Raku technique, it takes 450 x 280 cm (177.2 x 110.2) on a wall
